We had a White Christmas here in North Texas, the first one in 83 years. We had blizzard like conditions with blowing snow up to 30 mph and it was amazing. I have always dreamed of a White Christmas but didn’t realize the consequences it would bring. You see here in North Texas snow and ice pretty much shuts down everything including roads. We are not equipped to drive on ice.
I cooked all day Christmas Eve and then none of my family could make it to my house for the party. Luckily my Mom had came earlier in the day and was able to be with us. We had a very quiet Christmas Eve but the next day when the roads cleared the rest of the family made it over to the house and we were able to have a brief Christmas party. Christmas was a bit different this year with a few new faces and a few that couldn’t be here but life is about changes so we we adjust and go on.
Next year I believe I will think twice before I dream of a White Christmas.

What a BEAUTIFUL home you have...LOVE your porch! SNOW is soooo pretty but can cause some trouble!
Blessings,
Linda
Do YOU remember ME mentioning in the Christmas Questions post that I asked/dreamed about light snow. I will think twice too. We got the light snow but it looked just like yours in your photo. Sideways. Blown here by 50 mph winds with 15 degree temps. UGH. It's still snowing. It's still blowing.
it was unbearable here on Christmas Eve....I've never dreamed of a white Christmas...too cold for me...it was pretty to look at...but glad it's gone
Really pretty tho. The only white in my Christmas was the dressing on my thumb after the trip to the ER.
Beautiful photos. We received 28inches of snow on Christmas Day. Have a Happy New Year!
We must have shared the same snow weather over the holidays. It put a damper on a lot things, but your home looks very pretty decked in snow.
Happy New Year from our house to your house. Life isn't always easy or the way we planned it. Seems like I am always adjusting tee hee. Lovely house in a snow scene though.

Your home looks beautiful and pretty in the snow. We have snow most winters in Maryland and people still seem to go nuts when it happens. Especially when it comes to driving in the snow.
Happy New years.
Here in south west British Columbia, Canada we don't often get a white Christmas either. Last year though was the exception. We had snow every day for over a month. Oh my goodness we had snow.
Even though they cleared the streets for driving there was no where to park your car when you went somewhere.
Our boxing day guests were canceling but several hardy ones managed to get here.
We, too, had a White Christmas out here in West Texas. We do have a little more snow than ya';ll do but...I DON'T LIKE IT...too messy and cold and slick and .....just don't like it. We had a lot of sunshine today and has melted a lot of snow.
Glad your Christmas turned out nice, after all.
So the saying is true "Be careful of what you wish for" hahaha. AT least they were able to come the next day. You have beautiful house.
My entry, wishing you and your family a fruitful new year!
PS.. Followed your blog just now.
Your home looks so beautiful in the snow! I'm sorry your Christmas didn't turn out the way you planned! I'm sure this will be a memorable one though! All the best in 2010! Happy New Year!
Snow is great in theory. It is awful for driving and we should be careful what we wish for. Even here in upstate Ny where we get pleny of snow, big blustery storms are never very fun and mostly a huge inconvenience. pretty, but ...
