Commute With the Queen

image001
As much as I would like it, my everyday life does not allow me to post beautiful pictures of mountains or horses or the ocean.    Although I do love to set a pretty table I don’t have the luxury of staying home and changing out my tablescape’s per the season/holidays and blogging about it.  I spend almost 2 hours a day looking at the back of someone’s bumper.  The photo above is my first slow down in my 22 mile commute.  There are some beautiful fields and cows to look at through this area (I should have taken a picture of that while I was playing with the iphone).

This is about halfway to work  and my second slowdown.  This is where I cheat every morning and exit off the freeway and get in front of about a 1000 cars.  It saves me about 10 minutes.

Sun in my eyes but I’m so glad to see it!

Third slowdown and merging with another highway.

As much as I would love to show you a picture of the mountains or a beautiful stream that runs through my property  or my cute puppy tromping through a field of wild flowers I cannot.  These are my views, my reality (for now).
Until I change my reality I will continue to visit your blogs for my change of scenery and my country fix.
Thanks for riding along on the trail to work with me and be sure to keep it between the ditches!

ugg I hate that kind of traffic. I am about to begin a new job that will involve driving all day long doing home health. I think I will like the one on one patient care but the driving I will hate!!
I know what you mean. I wish I could make a living from a remote farm somewhere up in the hills with only the chickens and dogs to talk to lol, that would be great.

There are perks to living in a big city, we used to live near San Antonio and loved the many things to do. We're heading to Lake Texoma just north of Denton this weekend to visit with our kids! Hope the weather report of rain is wrong...

LSQ I think that is the only good thing about getting older. Retirement. We have done a D.C. commute(truly from hell)and the St.Louis commute(also from hell)so I feel your pain. I can so tell that you want to be in a little bit of your own country. That is my wish for you today, even if it takes a bit. So for now turn on your RA-DEE-OH!! and crank up "Life is a Highway"!

My drive to work also includes passing cows, but I do have a view of the beautiful Rocky Mountains and my drive is only a few non-highway miles. I have done those long highway commutes and know how tough they can be. I hope you are seeing some good bumper stickers on all those bumpers you are seeing every day.

Hey, been there and done that in my early years. I'm SO glad to be out of that. Even our small town is growing and we've got more traffic. But I don't miss that big city life AT ALL! I always thought I was born into the wrong century anyway. Peace and quiet for me!

Ugh. I do not miss any of that. I hope you get your wish and your change of scenery soon. Everyone deserves to live in the environment they dream about!
